Why Become a Member?
If you own/operate OR plan to own/operate a mobile food business in Washington, please support your own economic interests and that of your fellow mobile food vendors, by becoming a member of the WSFTA today. We have been making great strides over the years by changing and updating the policies that directly impact your daily business operations. However, without your participation this much needed state association would not be as strong or successful. We are a member services organization working hard to protect, promote, and grow the mobile food industry in Washington State. As our membership grows, so does our strength and our influence. We are more than just an industry, we are a community! By joining the WSFTA you will become a part of the ONLY organization in the state dedicated solely to working on behalf of the mobile food industry.
Government Relations
We are lucky to have our own full-time policy advisor/lobbyist working on our behalf in Olympia, tracking all proposed legislation that could effect us, and helping us to pursue our own legislative agenda. Our strong grassroots efforts helped to successfully pass new state laws. See all of our other state & local level advocacy and policy change efforts here. Members are kept up to date with notifications on all policy changes (health &fire code, Labor & Industries, etc.)
Special Events for Members
The WSFTA members have been able to participate in events that we have hosted like the biennial Food Truck Lobby Day at the state capitol, and other events at the Gates Foundation Recovery Center, the Woodland Park Zoo, the PGA Golf Tour and many more. Large event guidance - information is provided to new vendors and to event planners to better understand the needs and preferences of mobile food vendors. The WA State Food Truck Association will not assist, support, or promote events that we feel charge excessively high vendor fees or have unreasonable vendor requirements. See more here.
Catering & Event Referrals
Members receive first notice of new vending locations and special events in their area. Event planners, corporations, and city planning departments are put in touch with WSFTA members via our special request form.
Directory Listing
Our members are in the only state-wide comprehensive listing of mobile food vendors. Customers, event planners, business parks, colleges, and various corporations use our county listing to find the BEST food trucks in the state.

The Member Resources section of our website (for members only):
The information provided to members in our resources section has taken years to collect and compile. This provides our members a one-stop destination for all the relevant information they will need for licensing, permitting, and vending in Washington State.
How to Join
Membership is offered to current mobile food vendors, and to those in the start-up process. Membership is available for all types of mobile food vendors: tent & table, food cart, food trailer, and food truck. However, please be advised that certain types of vending units (eg. tent & table and food carts) may be excluded from some venues and special events at the discretion of the event host. Member dues are $280 per year (plus a $40 application fee for new members). Your membership begins the day your membership is approved and ends 12-months after that date.
Pay via Paypal (no Paypal account is required). Instructions are found in the application on the next page. Please FIRST read our terms before applying on the application page. (Please email us a photo image if you have one of your mobile unit for our directory listing.)
Discounted Memberships
We do not offer discounted memberships. We are a very busy association, and we simply do not have the manpower or resources to offer discounts, which would result in a reduction of services to our members..
Our Purpose
IMPORTANT: Prospective New Members Should Understand the Following:
The purpose of the Washington State Food Truck Association is to protect and grow the mobile food industry in our state and to help our members maximize their success. While we do offer our members access to dozens of reliable low-fee daily vending locations, as well as special event and catering referrals, this is not why the association exists. We are looking for members who will support our overall mission of protecting the mobile food industry from unreasonable regulations, fees, and taxes, at both the state and local level. We are looking for members who are willing to support and join us in these advocacy efforts. We are looking for members who want to work with other food truck operators and their local communities to help elevate and improve the mobile food industry. We are looking for members who will represent the very best of this industry, with the quality of their food and their professionalism. If your primary interest in the WSFTA is getting access to our managed vending locations or special events, this is NOT the association for you. There are companies that only book food trucks, and they do absolutely nothing to help individual food truck operators or the food truck industry. Their goal is to maximize their profits, while our goal is to maximize your profits. Please understand how we differ from these food truck booking companies.
We have a lot of work ahead of us, and some very serious challenges on the horizon, and we need the support of good hard-working people. We hope that you’ll join us.
